With pedestrian fatalities rising nationwide, the urgent need for safer roadways has never been more…
BFF greets runners as part of Washington Shores 5K and Health Fair
Best Foot Forward was happy to greet runners and walkers at the Washington Shores 5K and Community Health Fair on April 11.
About 100 participants met at The Hope Church and ran the road race in the nearby neighborhood. After working up a sweat, runners and walkers approached all of the health related community organizations including Orlando Health, Orange Theory, Orlando City Soccer, and more. Even Miss Florida made it out to the event to promote raising healthy and happy kids. The day also featured soccer games, hula hooping, and Zumba classes.
Most of the participants were aware that Orlando ranks high for pedestrian danger. Some of the participants were from Seminole County and wanted to know when the Best Foot Forward program would be gaining momentum in their county. MetroPlan Orlando is working closely with BFF to explore the possibility to expand into Seminole and Osceola Counties.
Thank you to Virginia Whittington for the invitation.
