Enforcement: Operation BFF
Orlando is consistently ranked as one of the most dangerous places in the country for people walking. Throughout the year, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Orlando Police Department conduct enforcement, one of the E’s in our Triple-E approach, to help combat this problem. Dubbed Operation Best Foot Forward, deputies and sheriffs go undercover for one of their most dangerous assignments – crossing the street. Drivers who fail to yield to them as they walk in the crosswalk face a $164 fine and three points on their license.
